Abstract

Described is a machine (M) for machining a workpiece, in particular a slab of glass, wood, wood-derived materials, plastic materials, composite materials, stone materials, metal, comprising: a work table (1) for supporting the workpiece; a machining device (2) for machining the workpiece; a pressure beam (P), movable relative to the work table (1), along a vertical direction (Z) perpendicular to the work table (1), between a raised position, wherein it is distal from the work table (1) and from the workpiece, and a lowered position, wherein it is proximal to the work table (1) and is configured for locking the workpiece on the work table (1); and a system (S) for moving the pressure beam (P), for moving the pressure beam (P) between the raised position and the lowered position, and vice versa, wherein the movement system (S) comprises a motion transmission mechanism (T), movable relative to the pressure beam (P), along a transverse direction (Y) perpendicular to the vertical direction (Z), the motion transmission mechanism (T) being configured to transform its movement relative to the pressure beam (P) in the movement of the pressure beam (P) relative to the work table (1) and therefore to the workpiece, between the raised position and the lowered position, and vice versa.
