Abstract

ObjectTo provide a folding apparatus (340) and a box sealing apparatus (33) that can achieve space savings.SolutionA folding apparatus (340) includes: a transport unit (370) configured to transport a cardboard box (B); and a folding unit (380) disposed above the transport unit (370) and configured to fold a front flap (Zfaa) and a rear flap (Zfab) into the inside of an opening (O) of the cardboard box (B). The transport unit (370) stops transport of the cardboard box (B) when the cardboard box (B) is positioned below the folding unit (380). The folding unit (380) includes a first abutting portion (381) and a second abutting portion (382), a first mechanism (383) configured to drive the first abutting portion (381) and the second abutting portion (382) and make the front flap (Zfaa) and the rear flap (Zfab) stand upright from below in conjunction with an operation of the first abutting portion (381) and the second abutting portion (382), and a second mechanism (384) configured to fold the front flap (Zfaa) and the rear flap (Zfab) standing upright toward the inside of the opening (O) by moving the first abutting portion (381) and the second abutting portion (382) along a transport direction.
