Abstract
[Object] To provide at least one of a beta zeolite having excellent catalytic activity and hydrothermal durability or a method for manufacturing it.[Solution] A beta zeolite having a total alkali metal content of 0.5% by mass or less, an SDA content of 4.0% by mass or less, a silica-to-alumina molar ratio of 20 or greater and 35 or less and a ratio of the height intensity of a peak having its peak top at 3735 ± 10 cm<sup>-1</sup> to the height intensity of a peak having its peak top at 1860 ± 10 cm<sup>-1</sup> in an IR spectrum of 1.90 or less.
