Abstract

The present invention discloses a method for obtaining a secondary refractory raw material comprising the following steps: 1.1. Providing a used refractory product; 1.2. Providing a comminution device comprising a comminution chamber, wherein a vertical axis is defined ranging from the top end to the bottom end of the comminution chamber, the comminution chamber comprising a supply opening located at the top end of the comminution chamber, and a discharge opening located at the bottom end of the comminution chamber, the comminution chamber further comprising at least two rotors being arranged at different heights along the vertical axis of the comminution chamber, each rotor comprising a rotor shaft, each rotor shaft being arranged coaxially with the vertical axis of the comminution chamber, and each rotor comprising a number of impact tools extending into the comminution chamber, wherein the impact tools preferably extend into the comminution chamber in a direction perpendicular to the vertical axis; 1.3. Supplying the used refractory product to the comminution chamber of the comminution device via the supply opening and directing the used refractory product through the comminution chamber; 1.4. Rotating at least two of said rotors in opposite directions of rotation around the vertical axis while the used refractory product is directed through the comminution chamber; 1.5. Impacting the used refractory product with the impact tools of the rotors to crush the used refractory product into grains, 1.6. Directing the grains of the used refractory product out of the comminution chamber via the discharge opening; and 1.7. Obtaining a secondary refractory raw material in the form of grains of the used refractory product.
