Abstract
An aircraft propulsion system (20) includes a combustor (44), an engine oil system (34), and a fuel system assembly (36). The engine oil system (34) includes a fuel-oil heat exchanger (80). The fuel system assembly (36) includes a jet fuel system (86), a hydrogen fuel system (88) and a switching valve (126). The jet fuel system (86) and the hydrogen fuel system (88) are connected in fluid communication with the combustor (44). The jet fuel system (86) is further selectively connected in fluid communication with the fuel-oil heat exchanger (80) by the switching valve (126). The hydrogen fuel system (88) includes a liquid hydrogen source (104). The hydrogen fuel system (88) is further selectively connected in fluid communication with the fuel-oil heat exchanger (80) by the switching valve (126). The switching valve (126) configured in a first circuit flow path directs the jet fuel through the fuel-oil heat exchanger (80). The switching valve (126) configured in a second circuit flow path directs the hydrogen fuel through the fuel-oil heat exchanger (80).
