Abstract

A baffle assembly (42) for interacting with a lubricating fluid (44) around a rotor in an aircraft power plant (10) is disclosed. The baffle assembly (42) may mitigate misting of lubricating fluid (44) inside a gearbox (12) and improve the effectiveness of the lubricating fluid (44). The baffle assembly (42) includes a first sidewall (48) configured to be fastened to a first structure (50) disposed to a first side of the rotor, a second sidewall (52) configured to be fastened to a second structure (54) disposed to a second side of the rotor axially opposite the first side of the rotor, and a baffle (56). The baffle (56) is supported by and extends between the first sidewall (48) and the second sidewall (52) so that the baffle (56) is disposed at a position adjacent to and radially outwardly of the rotor during use. A vibration damper (58A,58B) engaged with the baffle (56) to dampen a vibration of the baffle (56) during use.
