Abstract

A haptics decoding method according to an example embodiment includes obtaining a file representing a haptic experience. The file includes at least a first affective model data structure identifying an affective model. The file further includes at least a first haptic effect data structure including a first physical description of a first haptic effect. The first haptic effect data structure further includes a first affective response data structure defining a first affective response according to the identified affective model. A rendered haptic effect is provided to a user according to the first haptic effect data structure.
