Abstract
A method of authenticating a picture printed on an object is disclosed. The method comprising; capturing an image of the printed picture; retrieving an authentic version of the picture; converting the captured image and the retrieved authentic version to the same subtractive colour model; comparing the converted captured image and the converted retrieved authentic version; and in the event that any differences, between at least a part of the converted captured image and a corresponding part of the converted retrieved authentic version are random, determine the printed picture is authentic.
