Abstract

The present disclosure concerns a method of sample identification of a sample in a sample processing system, comprising: registering, for each sample of a plurality of samples to be processed by the sample processing system, initial sample identification data uniquely identifying the respective sample among the plurality of samples; registering, for each sample of the plurality of samples, initial sample fingerprint data indicative of an internal state of the respective sample; associating, for each sample of the plurality of samples, the respective initial sample identification data with the respective initial sample fingerprint data; determining that a sample identification condition is met, wherein the sample identification condition is indicative of a need to identify a specific sample being processed by the sample processing system; measuring, for the specific sample, current sample fingerprint data indicative of a current internal state of the specific sample; and mapping the current sample fingerprint data to the initial sample fingerprint data of one sample of the plurality of samples in order to identify the specific sample. The present disclosure further concerns a corresponding sample processing system and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium.
