Abstract

To control a charging period of a capacitor in a charging-and-discharging circuit and contribute to achieve a continuous mode. A rectification circuit includes a first capacitor and a first reactor, and performs full-wave rectification and low-pass filtering on a single-phase alternating-current voltage to acquire a rectified voltage. A voltage between a first power source line and a second power source line is inputted to an inverter. A charging-and-discharging circuit includes a charging circuit and a discharging circuit. The discharging circuit includes a second capacitor provided between the first power source line and the second power source line. The charging circuit boosts the single-phase alternating-current voltage having undergone the full-wave rectification or the rectified voltage to charge the second capacitor for the charging period. The charging period has a duration that is set depending on a phase of the single-phase alternating-current voltage without depending on an amplitude of an input current inputted to the rectification circuit. When a voltage of the first reactor decreases, both of a start point and an end point of the charging period shift toward a delay phase side with respect to the phase. When a voltage of the first capacitor increases, both of the start point and the end point shift toward the delay phase side with respect to the phase.
