Abstract

A vibration-type actuator includes a vibration member configured to include an electric-mechanical energy conversion element and an elastic member having a plate portion and projected portions which project in a same direction from a surface of the plate portion, a contact member configured to be in contact with the projected portions of the vibration member and move relative to the vibration member, a foamed member configured to be in contact with the vibration member, and a biasing member configured to press the vibration member toward the contact member via the foamed member, wherein, in a case where loss coefficient tanδ of the foamed member is measured by viscoelastic measurement in which vibration is applied to the foamed member, the loss coefficient tanδ of the foamed member measured at -20°C with vibration applied at a frequency of 1 Hz, is greater than the loss coefficient tanδ of the foamed member, measured at 40°C with vibration applied at a frequency of 10 Hz.
