Abstract

A method for a wireless device for a wireless communication system is described herein. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving - by a wireless device from a base station - one or more messages comprising configuration parameters of a plurality of secondary cells (SCells); determining - by the wireless device - a beam failure of a first SCell of the plurality of SCells; and transmitting - by the wireless device - a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) for reporting the beam failure of the first SCell. The MAC CE comprises a plurality of reserved bits and multiple bit-fields, wherein one of the multiple bit-fields indicates a presence of a field for the first SCell with an SCell index. The field is included in one or more reserved bits of the plurality of reserved bits, and the field comprises an associated field value determined based on the beam failure being detected on the first SCell.
