Abstract

An image printing apparatus (100) comprising: a first processing unit to execute processing for transitioning the image printing apparatus to a power saving state with the power of the image printing apparatus kept on, based on a non-operating time period for which the image printing apparatus has been in a non-operating state and information indicating whether or not the image printing apparatus in the non-operating state is in a predetermined state (201,S404,S405); a second processing unit to execute processing for automatically turning off the power of the image printing apparatus from the power saving state, based on the non-operating time period of the image printing apparatus (201, S404,S405,S407,S408); and a third processing unit to execute processing for automatically turning off the power of the image printing apparatus from a state other than the power saving state, based on the non-operating time period of the image printing apparatus (201, S404,S407,S408).
