Abstract

A detection method and apparatus are disclosed and relate to the field of projection device technologies, and can simply and efficiently obtain a more accurate definition of a projected to-be-detected image, to further quantitatively obtain a projection quality value of a projection device. In the method, an energy detector detects energy values of pixels of different color regions of the to-be-detected image, and obtains a first parameter of the to-be-detected image through calculation based on the energy values, where the first parameter may indicate definition of the to-be-detected image. Projection quality of the projection device may be determined based on the first parameter.
