Abstract
A display device including a display; an internal speaker; a wireless communication interface communicating with at least one external speaker; and a controller configured to receive a first audio signal to be output through the internal speaker and the at least one external speaker, display a graphic user interface including a surround sound mode option and a non-surround sound mode option, transmit a command to the at least one external speaker requesting an audio output capabilities of the at least one external speaker, activate the surround sound mode option when the audio capabilities indicates the at least one external speaker supports surround sound, and deactivate the surround sound mode when the audio capabilities indicates the at least one external speaker does not support surround sound.
