Abstract

A large jewel setting (1) for retention in an ear lobe (100) includes a jewel basket (10) and a retention post (12). The jewel basket preferably includes a divot (14), at least one peripheral retention member (15) and at least one top retention member (17). A bottom (25) of the at least one peripheral retention member has a flat bottom surface (21). The divot includes a cone shape. An inner surface of the divot includes a cone shape, which is sized to receive a bottom of a jewel (104). A top of the divot extends downward from the flat bottom surface. A bottom of the divot is attached to a top of the retention post. The at least one top retention member extends upward from the at least one peripheral retention member.
