Abstract
A sheet conveying apparatus (120) includes a feed roller (46), a separation pad (48), a separation roller (47), and at least one groove (48A). The feed roller (46) feeds at least one sheet (G) from a sheet feeding tray (36) in a predetermined conveying direction (Z). The separation pad (48) is provided on a downstream side of the feed roller (46) in the conveying direction (Z). The separation roller (47) holds the at least one sheet (G) fed by the feed roller (46) between itself and the separation pad (48) and conveys the at least one sheet (G) in the conveying direction (Z). At least one groove (48A) is provided on a surface of the separation pad (48) with which the at least one sheet (G) comes into contact.
