Abstract
The present invention aims to provide a method for producing 3-methyl-1,2,4-thiadiazole-5-carbohydrazide safely and in high yield. The present invention relates to a method for producing 3-methyl-1,2,4-thiadiazole-5-carbohydrazide or a salt thereof, via a compound represented by the formula (2):wherein R is a C<sub>1-4</sub> alkyl group, which is a novel compound, or a salt thereof. According to the present invention, a safe and high-yielding production method of 3-methyl-1,2,4-thiadiazole-5-carbohydrazide, which is an important synthetic intermediate for fezolinetant useful as a medicament for the treatment of sex hormone-dependent diseases, can be provided.
