Abstract

A metal material is electrolyzed while an electrolyte is flown. In this manner, precipitates and/or inclusions (precipitates and the like) in the metal material can be accurately extracted with ease. The electrolyzing is preferably performed while the electrolyte is flown along at least part of an electrolysis surface of the metal material, the electrolysis surface being a surface to contact the electrolyte. A flow velocity of the electrolyte flowing along the electrolysis surface is preferably not lower than 0.48 mm/s. It is preferable that the metal material and the electrolyte are stored in an electrolytic cell, and the electrolyte is injected into and discharged from the electrolytic cell, whereby the electrolyte is flown.
