Abstract

An article of footwear having a sole structure and an upper and defining a widest section, a narrowest section, a toe end, a heel end, a lateral side, and a medial side. The sole structure includes a top midsole (180) directly coupled to the upper, a sole plate directly coupled to the top midsole (180), a front midsole directly coupled to the top midsole (180) and the sole plate, a rear midsole directly coupled to the top midsole (180) and the sole plate, and an outsole directly coupled to the front midsole and the rear midsole. The top midsole (180) includes an upper side (200) and an underside (190), and the upper side (200) of the top midsole (180) includes a lip (218) around an outer edge (216) of the upper side (200). Further, the underside (190) of the top midsole (180) includes a plurality of recesses (186), and the top midsole (180) includes an aperture (188) that extends from the upper side (200) to the underside (190).
