Abstract
A surgical system is disclosed including an evacuation module and a controller. The evacuation module comprises a motor and a pump drivable by the motor to draw smoke from a patient. The controller is operable to receive a first input indicative of a type of a surgical instrument, receive a second input indicative of a power level of the surgical instrument, and set a motor speed of the motor based on the first and second inputs.
