Abstract

A computer-implemented method (1000) for supporting a surgeon in validating an implant placement, the method (1000) comprising: obtaining (S1010) preoperative patient image data comprising representations of a plurality of anatomical elements of a patient's body; obtaining (S1020) implant placement data indicative of a pose of at least one placed implant relative to at least one of the anatomical elements; obtaining (S1030) tracking data indicative of a change of a relative pose of at least one of the anatomical elements; determining (S1040), based on the preoperative patient image data, the implant placement data and the tracking data, a first simulated patient image comprising representations of the plurality of anatomical elements with the at least one of the anatomical elements having the changed pose, the simulated patient image further comprising a visualization of the placed implant; and triggering (S1050) display of the first simulated patient image to support the surgeon in validating the placement of the implant.
