Abstract
[Problem] To provide a simple, quick, and low-cost casting method, with which a hole with a large aspect ratio and a bent hole can be easily produced, and which requires no large drawing force and enables compact equipment, and a casting obtained by such a casting method. [Solution] Ceramic fiber is impregnated with a binder and a resultant is solidified into a predetermined shape to prepare in advance a casting mold or core 3, which has shape retention. A molten material including a molten metal, semiconductor, or polymeric material is supplied to an inside of a mold in which the casting mold or core is provided, to form a solidified body 6 formed of the molten material. Subsequently, a binder dissolution solution 7 in which the binder is dissolved is allowed to permeate the casting mold or core 3, to soften the casting mold or core, and the casting mold or core 3, which has been softened, is separated from the solidified body 6 to obtain a casting 8 including the solidified body.
