Abstract
The invention relates to a method and system for extrusion printing. A powder formulation is provided consisting of one or more components into a chamber (3) equipped with a piston (7). The powder formulation is compressed within the chamber using the piston to form a compressed block of material, wherein the piston is configured with an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the chamber, such as to establish a gap (G) that is configured to permit air to escape while preventing the material from exiting therethrough during compression. The compressed block of material is extruded through a nozzle (9) to achieve extrusion printing.
