Abstract
The present watercraft propulsion system (100) includes a principal propulsion device (3), an auxiliary propulsion device (4), a tilt cylinder (62), a keeping mode setting button (82, 83, 84), and a main controller (101). The principal propulsion device (3) is attached to a hull (2) of a watercraft. The auxiliary propulsion device (4) is attached to the hull (2) and uses an electric motor as a power source thereof. The tilt cylinder (62) changes a tilt angle (θ) of the auxiliary propulsion device (4) with respect to the hull (2). The keeping mode setting button (82, 83, 84) issues a command for executing a keeping mode of keeping the hull (2) either disposed in a predetermined target position (Tp) or oriented in a predetermined target compass direction (Td). When the command for executing the keeping mode is issued by the keeping mode setting button (82, 83, 84), the main controller (101) executes the keeping mode by setting either the predetermined target position (Tp) or the predetermined target compass direction (Td) based on the tilt angle (θ) of the auxiliary propulsion device (4).
