Abstract

Herein is disclosed a roof skylight (1) having a rectangular glazing frame (2, 37) enclosing an upward opening of the skylight (1), the glazing frame supporting a panel (4) on a curb (3) extending upwards from a roof surface,wherein at least three sides of the glazing frame (2, 37) comprises a glazing frame profile (2) having an anchoring part (17) connected to the curb (3) and with an upward facing support element (21), and a fastening part (23) having an downwardly facing clamping element (24) so as to clamp the panel (4) between the support element (21) of the anchoring part (17) and the clamping element (24) of the fastening part (23),the anchoring part (17) and the fastening part (23) being mutually displaceable to accommodate the distance between the support element (21) and the clamping element (24) to the thickness (Tp) of the panel (4),wherein a plurality of clamping screws (29) are provided between the anchoring part (17) and the fastening part (23) for adjusting the distance between the support element (21) and the clamping element (24), andwherein the heads (32) of the clamping screws (29) engage an abutment surface (33) of the anchoring part (17) and extend toward the fastening part (23), with which an external thread of the clamping screws (29) engages, the abutment surface (33) extending substantially parallel to the lower side surface (9) of the panel (4), and the abutment surface (33) in the thickness (Tp) direction is located in proximity to the plane of the lower side surface (9) of the panel (4). Preferably, the abutment surface (33) extends at a smaller distance to the upper side surface (8) of the panel (4) than the distance between the upper side surface (8) of the panel (4) and the lower side surface (9) of the panel (4).
