Abstract

A computer-implemented method for dynamic estimation of vehicle mass is disclosed. The method comprises acquiring sensor measurements representing parameters defining a vehicle state, and processing the acquired sensor measurements to estimate one or more vehicle state parameters. The method also comprises forming a vehicle state vector comprising current values of the one or more vehicle state parameters and at least one previous value of at least one of the one or more vehicle state parameters, wherein a current vehicle state is indicated by the current values and one or more previous vehicle states are indicated by the at least one previous value. Furthermore, the method comprises processing the vehicle state vector to provide estimation of vehicle mass, by capturing temporal dependencies between the current and previous vehicle states, and by applying one or more dynamic constraints.Corresponding computer system, vehicle, computer program product, and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are also disclosed.
