Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for switching hot plate relays in vitroceramic cookers by aligning the switching operation with the mains zero-crossing, and to a system implementing the said method. The mains sine wave signal is monitored by means of a zero-crossing circuit and relay feedback circuits, and the relay opening time is calculated by the controller. In the subsequent switching operations, the relay is engaged at the zero-crossing point, thereby achieving minimal current flow through the relay contacts. Thus, the economic life of the relay is extended, failures caused by high-current switching are prevented, and reliable operation is ensured. The said method improves the relay performance without the need for external current sensors and significantly reduces the failure rate.
