Abstract
The present invention relates to an immobilized metal-functionalized magnetic nanoparticle (IM-MNP) comprising a ferrite core and a coating comprising an aminosilane moiety, a chelating moiety and a divalent transition metal cation. The present invention further relates to a composition of IM-MNPs, a method of manufacturing IM-MNPs, use of a composition of IM-MNPs for purifying a target protein, and a method of purifying a target protein from a biological sample.
