Abstract

An A-pillar upper outer (10, 10A, 10B, 10C, 10D) includes a pillar body (11). The pillar body (11) includes a top plate (111), ridge line portions (112, 113), vertical walls (114, 115), and flanges (116, 117). The pillar body (11) extends while forming a curve, where one ridge line portion (112), one vertical wall (114), and one flange (116) are located on an outer side of the curve, and the other ridge line portion (113), the other vertical wall (115), and the other flange (117) are located on an inner side of the curve. A bead (118) is formed in the top plate (111) in an area (R1) of 200 mm or more and 500 mm or less in a longitudinal direction from an end portion (11e) of the pillar body (11). The bead (118) has a shape recessed inward of the pillar body (11) and extends in the longitudinal direction of the pillar body (11).
