Abstract
A problem of the invention is to provide a bacterium belonging to Lactobacillus helveticus having an excellent IFN production-inducing activity. A bacterium classified as Lactobacillus helveticus which can activate plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) and/or myeloid dendritic cells (mDCs) and induce production of type I IFN and which induces the production of type I IFN in an amount 1.5 times or more higher than that of Lactobacillus helveticus SBT2171 (accession number: Ferm BP-5445).
