Abstract

Provided is a device for reducing standby power including a memory, and a processor, wherein the processor identifies whether a first user input is received via an input device for a preset first time period while a display is turned on and a screen is displayed, obtains a first image capturing a space ahead of the display when the first user input is not received, and controls on/off of the display depending on whether a user's face is included in the first image or whether the user's face included in the first image is recognized as an authenticated user.
