Abstract

An automotive component designing method according to the present invention includes: acquiring an automotive component model obtained by modeling an automotive component subjected to a compressive load in a longitudinal direction at a time of collision of an automobile (S1); setting a design space in a design target portion to be a design target (S3); generating a design target portion model obtained by modeling the set design space with a shell element and/or a solid element (S5); setting objectives that maximize a buckling load in a primary buckling mode obtained by linear buckling analysis in the automotive component model (S7); executing optimization analysis for obtaining an optimized shape of the design target portion model that satisfies the set objectives (S9); and determining a shape of the design target portion based on the optimized shape of the design target portion model (S11).
