Abstract

An image processing apparatus according to the present invention includes a first classification unit configured to generate a two-dimensional result of rough classification by classifying a plurality of pixels in each of a plurality of pieces of two-dimensional axial image data constituting first three-dimensional image data including an object into a first class group by using a trained classifier by inputting each of the plurality of pieces of two-dimensional axial image data, wherein the trained classifier is a classifier in which a two-dimensional ground truth image and a training image which is a two-dimensional axial image are used as training data; a three-dimensional data generation unit configured to generate a three-dimensional result of rough classification based on the two-dimensional result of rough classification generated by the first classification unit; and a second classification unit configured to classify a plurality of pixels in second three-dimensional image data including the object into a second class group by inputting the second three-dimensional image data based on the three-dimensional result of rough classification generated by the three-dimensional data generation unit, wherein the second class group includes at least one class of the first class group and the second class group has fewer classes than the first class group.
