Abstract

This application provides a ring back tone play method, a device, a storage medium, and a chip system. In the method, for a scenario in which a ring back tone type is a network ring back tone, that is, audio data of a ring back tone to be played is provided by a network side, it is set that when all audio packets received by a first terminal within a first time are silent packets, the ring back tone type is directly modified to a local ring back tone, and then the local ring back tone is played. This can ensure that the first terminal can play the ring back tone in a timely manner and prompt a user.
