Abstract
The present disclosure provides a computer-implemented method for training an image compression network, the method comprising providing an image compression network comprising an encoding component and a decoding component; providing an image processing component; processing an initial image by the encoding component to obtain a compressed image; processing the compressed image by the decoding component to obtain a decompressed image; processing the decompressed image by the image processing component to obtain an image processing result for the decompressed image; generating a loss function evaluating an image processing loss, the image processing loss based on a comparison between the image processing result for the decompressed image and an image processing ground truth result; and using the loss function for training the image compression network.
