Abstract

A system and a method for bandwidth allocation for an access point in a 4G combo indoor small cell (IDSC) in a network is disclosed. The 4G combo IDSC comprises an access point and a 4G IDSC. Throughputs of a 5G IDSC and a backhaul switch connected to the 5G IDSC are determined. A remaining bandwidth for the 4G combo IDSC is determined based on the determined throughput of the 5G IDSC and the backhaul switch. A throughput of a 4G IDSC is determined. A precision time protocol (PTP) bandwidth associated with a PTP grandmaster attached to the network is determined. A bandwidth of the access point in the 4G combo IDSC is determined based on the remaining bandwidth, the throughput of the 4G IDSC and the PTP bandwidth. The calculated bandwidth is allocated to the access point in the 4G combo IDSC.
