Abstract

A detection apparatus is configured to detect vibration of a subject. The detection apparatus includes a diaphragm (206) configured to be displaced in response to vibration of the subject, a light emitter (202) configured to emit light toward the diaphragm, a photodetector (204) configured to receive light reflected by the diaphragm and generate a signal corresponding to the reflected light, a casing (208) configured to internally house the light emitter and the photodetector, and a grip (120) configured to rotate about a rotation shaft (1001b) relative to the casing, the grip including a portion grippable by a user. The light emitter and the photodetector are respectively arranged at one end and another end of the casing with respect to an axial direction of the rotation shaft.
