Abstract

The disclosure relates to a collapsible medical device for (2, 20, 24, 50) occluding a trans-septal hole comprising: a tubular member formed of a braided fabric and comprising a proximal end (4, 26, 52) and a distal end (6, 28, 54), and wherein the tubular member comprises: a proximal disc-shaped portion (8, 30, 56) at the proximal end; a distal disc-shaped portion (14, 36, 58) at the distal end; and a cylindrical segment (16, 42, 60) extending between and connecting the proximal disc-shaped portion and the distal disc-shaped portion; and a gasket (22, 44, 62) that occupies at least a portion of, and engages an interior surface of, the cylindrical segment, wherein the gasket is sized and configured to be penetrable to provide access through the tubular member from the proximal end to the distal end and re-sealable.
