Abstract

[Problem] To provide a biocompatible material having sufficient osteoconductivity and antibacterial properties, and a method for producing the biocompatible material. [Solution] Provided according to one embodiment of the present invention is a method for producing a biocompatible material, the method comprising: a step for preparing a base and particles that contain, as a main component, a compound containing silicon and nitrogen; and a step for causing the particles to collide with the surface of the base by aerosol deposition and forming a coating layer that covers at least part of the base, thus obtaining a biocompatible material.
