Abstract

The present invention discloses a flow control assembly (125) for use in a retrograde flow system (100), the flow control assembly (125) comprising a housing (1300) configured to be separated into separate housing (1300) components, wherein the housing (1300) includes a first connector configured to be coupled to an arterial access sheath (110, 605), wherein the housing (1300) includes a second connector configured to be coupled to a venous return sheath (115), a flow pathway defined in-line within the housing (1300) that extends between the first connector and the second connector, an actuator assembly with at least one actuator (1330, 1340) coupled to the housing (1300), wherein the actuator assembly is configured to switch flow along the flow pathway between a first flow state and a second flow state; and wherein a portion of the actuator assembly engages the flow pathway when flow along the flow pathway is in the second flow state.
