Abstract
A specimen container sorter (40) connected to a rack transportation path (1a) along which a rack (100) loaded with a specimen container (110) is transported in a first direction to a specimen analyzer (62), the specimen container sorter including: a container storage mechanism (49) configured to store a plurality of the specimen containers, each containing a specimen; a container transfer mechanism (45) configured to transfer, from the container storage mechanism to the rack, the specimen container containing the specimen to be analyzed by the specimen analyzer; and a rack sending mechanism (48) that is arranged below the container storage mechanism in a height direction of the specimen container sorter and is provided with a rack placement position (P12) where the rack that has received the specimen container transferred by the container transfer mechanism is placed, wherein the rack sending mechanism is configured to move the rack, in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction.
