Abstract

A polyamic acid prepolymer composition prepared from: an amine-terminated polyetherimide oligomer; a dianhydride or dianhydride derivative; optionally a diamine, an endcapping agent, a branching agent, a crosslinking composition, or a combination thereof; and a solvent. A varnish composition, including: a polyamic acid composition; optionally a crosslinking composition; optionally an additive; and optionally a solvent, wherein a dynamic viscosity of the varnish composition is 10,000 to 200,000 cP, or 10,000 to 100,000 cP, or 10,000 to 80,000 cP, as determined at a solids content of 10 wt% in 1-methylpyrrolidin-2-one at 25 °C. A method of preparing a polyamic acid prepolymer composition includes combining an amine-terminated polyetherimide oligomer, a dianhydride or dianhydride derivative, and a solvent, to form the polyamic acid prepolymer composition.
