Abstract
To provide a method which efficiently produces a chemical product and also efficiently provides a carbide from used tires by improvement of each step in a set of processes. A method for producing a chemical product and a carbide, the method including a pyrolysis step of obtaining a first gas fraction, pyrolysis oil, and a residue fraction through pyrolysis of a crushed product of used tires, a carbide recovery step of recovering carbide from the residue fraction, a low-temperature hydrogenation step of subjecting raw oil containing at least one portion of the pyrolysis oil to low-temperature hydrotreatment at 180°C or higher and 350°C or lower, to obtain low-temperature hydrogenated oil, a hydrogenolysis step of subjecting raw oil containing at least one portion of the low-temperature hydrogenated oil to hydrogenolysis treatment at a higher temperature than that in the low-temperature hydrotreatment, to obtain a second gas fraction, a light fraction having a boiling point of 350°C or lower, and a heavy fraction having a boiling point of higher than 350°C, and a steam cracking step of obtaining a chemical product, and a raw material for carbide production, containing a heavy distillate fraction having a 10% distillation temperature of 190°C or higher, by steam cracking of steam cracking raw oil containing at least one portion of the light fraction, in which a pyrolysis temperature of the pyrolysis is 350°C or higher and 750°C or lower.
