Abstract

This cell transfer device is provided with: a camera that captures an image of a cell accommodated in a first container; a head that performs an operation of moving to the position of a target cell in the first container based on the image captured by the camera, causing the chip to suction the target cell, moving to a second container, and then causing the target cell to be discharged to the second container; and an information processing unit that corrects the position coordinates at which the head is actually present. The information processing unit: operates the head so that, with a predetermined location in a calibration area in the first container being a target coordinate position to which the head is to move, the chip gives a predetermined trace to the calibration area; causes the camera to capture an image of an area including the trace to identify an actual coordinate position of the trace; and determines a difference between the target coordinate position and the actual coordinate position to obtain a correction value for the position coordinates of the head.
