Abstract
A fluid machine of the present disclosure includes a stator including a center axis, and a housing including an inner circumferential surface that is in contact with an outer circumferential surface of the stator. A groove extending along a direction including an axial component of the center axis is formed in one of the outer circumferential surface and the inner circumferential surface. The groove includes a bottom surface, and a pair of side surfaces extending from the bottom surface to the circumferential surface to be spaced farther apart from each other in the circumferential direction toward the circumferential surface. In a cross section of the groove perpendicular to the center axis, the pair of side surfaces are each represented as a linear portion including at least one straight line or curved line connecting a start point connected to the bottom surface and an end point connected to the circumferential surface. When a tangent line with an arbitrary point of the linear portion as a contact point is decomposed into a circumferential component extending in the circumferential direction from the contact point and a radial component extending in the radial direction from the contact point, the tangent line at each contact point from the start point to the end point includes at least the circumferential component among the circumferential component and the radial component.
