Abstract
A rolling bearing 1 includes raceway surfaces 11a and 12a and a rolling element 13 that rolls on the raceway surfaces. The rolling bearing 1 includes: a contact portion where the raceway surface and the rolling element are in point contact with each other, an oil film is formed at a portion of the point contact, and the raceway surfaces 11a and 12a are in contact with the rolling element 13; and a non-contact portion that is not in contact with the rolling element. An estimated value Fr,w of rolling viscosity resistance is calculated from a regression equation, in which a calculation range of a contact ellipse in a major axis direction is set to a length selected within a range exceeding a major axis radius of the contact ellipse and equal to or less than an axial equivalent radius.
