Abstract

The present application discloses a method of preparing a biological sample by low-temperature thermal evaporation, making the prepared sample highly suitable for subsequent MALDI-MSI analysis. The high vacuum pressure used in the method enables matrix evaporation at a low temperature, significantly reducing sample contamination and biological degradation during deposition, resulting in very pure matrix layers irrespective of matrix quality.
