Abstract

Provided are an evaluation method for the woody aroma note of cigarette smoke and use thereof. The evaluation method comprises the following steps: (1) collecting a mainstream smoke total particulate matter of a typical woody-type cigarette and a typical non-woody-type cigarette, performing GC-MS detection to obtain a content of an aroma-contributing component; and conducting partial least squares-discriminant analysis on the content of the aroma-contributing component to obtain a VIP value of the aroma-contributing component; (2) collecting a mainstream smoke total particulate matter of a cigarette to be tested, and performing GC-MS detection to obtain a content of an aroma-contributing component in the cigarette to be tested; and (3) calculating a woody aroma note index Q based on the VIP value and the content of the aroma-contributing component in the cigarette to be tested. The evaluation method provided in the present application can objectively and accurately reflect the woody aroma note of cigarette smoke, avoiding the subjective errors inherent in sensory evaluation and the mismatch between the analysis result of aroma-contributing components in cut tobacco and the actual smoking experience, thereby providing a novel approach for characterizing and evaluating the woody aroma note of cigarette smoke.
