Abstract

A developing unit (20Y, 20M, 20C, 20K) includes a rotatable developing member (11), a magnet (12), and a duct portion (70) including a suction port (74), a first duct wall (72) and a second duct wall (71). P1 is located downstream of P2 and upstream of P3. P1 is a point at which a line connecting the rotation center of the rotatable developing member (11) and a distal end (72c) of the first duct wall (72) intersects the outer peripheral surface of the rotatable developing member (11). Fθ≥0 is satisfied over a range from P1 to P3 in the rotation direction of the rotatable developing member (11). Fθ is a magnetic force in a tangential direction with respect to the outer peripheral surface of the rotatable developing member (11) in a magnetic force acting on the carrier on the outer peripheral surface of the rotatable developing member (11).
